In our LoCo Team, we have been working very hard on spreading the word. Besides the events and the on-line activities, we try to reach the non-geek audience by publishing FOSS related articles in the local media on a regular basis.

In this line, a new communication project was born a few months ago within the Nicaraguan LUG, and yesterday we received some great news.

Canal 2, Nicaragua’s biggest television network, is going to broadcast a weekly technology show every Tuesday, starting July 15.

The producers of this new show are… yes, you guessed it! …our local LUG!

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reach virtually every Nicaraguan household and spread the word about the greatness of Free and Open Source Software.

I’m absolutely thrilled with this project, but I’m also a pretty scared… produce 4-5 quality shows a month is a HUGE challenge. Are we up to it? Definetly! Bring it on!
